My Favorite Place In the World to Be

This cloud looks like an angel is flying over. This is God's world!

This is my favorite place to be. The beachs at Longboat Key, FL. or Lido Beach FL.

I love going to the beach anytime and all the time when I can. But I must say the beach is also my place to find peace and serenity when the world seems to stressful, or when life feels like it's falling apart. Many times I will drive down to the beach during the day or sometimes even late in the evening when I feel I need to talk and connect with God and feel close to him. I always feel so much better and my burdens feel lighter. I have even thrown some clothes and the overnight bag in my Explorer, along with my pillow and blanket and headed to the beach and slept right in the car at one point during my divorce. I stayed for two nights and 3 days. It's the place where I can think and sort things out. It's a place for peace and clearing my mind. It's the place where I feel....free! Free from an ugly world and what it can do to a person.

I point my face out to the ocean and sky. I watch the birds fly freely above and listen to the chatter of the seagulls. Sometimes I'll see dolphins swim by. I love the breeze in my face and blowing through my hair. The smell of the salt water and the soft feel of the white sand on my feet is mesmerizing. It's quiet. This is where I feel God on a good day or bad day, and I always find peace and comfort here. It's the most beautiful place I know with the never ending blue skies, the rolling waves, the white sand, the delightful smells, the sounds of water hitting the shore, the beautiful sun shining, the gorgeous sunsets, and peace and quite. How did he create such beauty!? I always look forward and keep the world at bay behind me until it's time to leave. I close my eyes and pray, talk to God, and listen. I always feel him. When I'm ready to turn around where life awaits me to leave, I feel alive and ready to go back home with a renewed sense of strength, and sure sense of God's love, and know I can and will be ok. I'm calm and alive again and know that the God that created all of this is still with me.

My heart, mind, and soul knows once again, I'm not in this world alone.
God, Water, and Me are One Again! I'm New Again!

Love and Hugs and God's Blessings to You!

  1. Debi, this is the 3rd time I've tried to leave a comment. Each time I forget to wait for the word verification.

Your pictures are awesome. How very much like our loving Father to meet you at the beach, where you find solace and peace, during some of the dark days of your life. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I'm visiting from the link party, and I am right there with ya, girl, on the Florida beaches!!! Only I'm at Atlantic Coast gal. Love the Gulf too, though.

Anyhow, your photos are beyond gorgeous!! Thank you for beautifying my day with them.

By the way, I looked at your next lower post. Your granddaughter is SO beautiful. I'm saying a prayer for her right now, for healing, for complete restoration, for a caregiver.

    Blessings,
    Patti

  3. Hi Faye, it's so nice to see you again! :) I always mess up with that word verification thing too lol.

Glad you liked the pictures. I don't know what it was about your comment but it brought me to tears. I actually needed that. :) I've been so angry for so long and my heart has been so heavy that the burdens are getting far to heavy for me to carry. I think I really need my beach again, but I have been so busy I haven't been able to get away. I need to feel close to God again and it seems thats the one place where I can get that feeling of just Him and me. I feel like He is holding me in his arms when I'm there. It's the only place I can really shut out everything around me. I need to just cry, cry, and cry till the tears stop and then talk to God and I'll feel much better. I always know he'll be there and I think thats why the need to go there gets so strong within me sometimes. He knows that when I'm there I can let everything go so I can hear him. He is so wonderful and the beach is my beautiful and peaceful place to find Him.

    Thanks for coming by!
Hugs and Blessings to You my Friend,

  4. Hi Patti,

Thank you for stopping by. I grew up on a lake as a child in Michigan, and I swear me and water are one. I am always surprised by what being around the water does for me. These beaches here are awsome and so beautiful! To me they're like heaven on earth! :)

Thank you your prayers for my little granddaughter. She so needs them. I so hope and pray that when that cast comes off, she will be good as new despite these sorry doctors. Thank you again. :)

    Gods Blessings to You!

  5. I could count both hands the number of times that I have ever been privileged to go to the beach, but next to home, it is my favorite place in the world. I can sit for hours and watch and listen to the waves come in. Somehow, it makes me feel so small and God seem so big.

    Beautiful pictures!

  6. Debi, your photos are so beautiful. I'm currently on a writing retreat with three of my good friends. At dinner we were talking about how calm and relaxing water is.

I love being outdoors and feel especially close to God when I'm surrounded by the beauty He created.

    Blessings,
    Joan

  7. Hi Cathrine,

Thanks for the visit! Yes I agree on how small one feels and how big God is! All one needs to do is to see the world around us for proof of that. Whether it's the beaches, mountains, valleys, desserts, or the plains, he has given us such beauty in these places. I feel small in all these places and it's in these places where one must know there is a God. Only he could paint these sceneries with such massivness and beauty!

Come here anytime and I'll take you to the beach! :)

  17. Oooooh Celestina how nice to see you again! So happy you stopped by. Thank you for your sweet comment and I'm so glad you liked your visit.

My husband and I have been looking at some property to build a house hopefully by the first of the year. It's on a hill, overlooking a lake, and island, and a canal. It's about 9 acres with lots of grandfather oak trees sweeping with hanging moss and open land areas. It's beautiful. We'll be able to see the sunsets over the lake every night too. My husband loves the water too and actually grew on spending tons of time at this lake. He also lived on St. Pete's Beach in Florida for years. He also has property in the mountains of Tenn. and we want to build a getaway there too. We will have the best of all the world. A lake everyday, the ocean nearby, and the mountains! We're just waiting on his company to sell which will be anytime between now and December. I hope it all works. Retirement will be heaven until we acutally reach heaven. He so deserves all of this! :)

Was just looking at your new goodies a couple of days ago. I so love your things. I'll be back soon!

I so need to get back to sewing! TaTa for Now! :)

    Hugs and God Bless You!
    Have a wonderful Weekend!
